Revd Mark Burleigh trained for the Baptist Ministry at Spurgeon's College, London. He was ordained at Farnham Baptist Church in Surrey in 1986, at the age of 24. His first appointment was as Associate Minister at Brighton Road Baptist Church, Horsham, W Sussex from 1986.
In 1989 he moved to Leicester to Robert Hall. During his time at Robert Hall he also worked as a part-time chaplain at De Montfort University and Leicester General Hospital. He was a governor at the local Caldecote Primary School. He served on the management committee of the "Rainbow Project", an interdenominational project seeking to build bridges with the local Asian communities in south-west Leicester. Mark also served on the East Midlands Baptist Association General Committee.
In April 1996 the ITV morning live TV service was broadcast from Robert Hall. In 1997 Mark "exchanged pulpits" with Revd Roy Donkin of Emmanuel Church, Albany, New York.
Mark left Robert Hall in 1999 to take up a full-time post as a hospital chaplain. He is married with 2 grown up children. His hobbies include music - he often played bass guitar in the services with Encounter.
