Claire Bedford, originally from North Devon is a pharmacist. She has been accepted as a long term mission worker with BMS World Mission. She trained at the University of Bath and Torbay Hospital. Claire has worked as a hospital pharmacist and more recently as a prescribing advisor for GP practices. Claire has served with BMS since 2013. She is working in Chad to continue the development of the pharmacy service at Guinebor II hospital. Her home church is Upton Vale Baptist Church, Torquay.

Mark and Susanna Barrell are working with BMS World Mission in Mozambique. After a previous spell with BMS in Uganda from 2002-2006, Mark and Susanna returned to Africa in early 2018. This time they are serving in Mozambique, where Mark is working alongside the Mozambique Association of Christian Lawyers to help build its capacity. Susanna is using her small business and handicrafts skills to expand the Baptist convention’s community development work in the south of the country. Whilst in the UK, Mark was a lawyer and the Executive Director of the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship (UK) whilst Susanna ran a small sewing business. As well as Lizzie (15) who has moved to Mozambique with them and attends school in Maputo, Mark and Susanna have two other children.

Richard & Soso Chamberlain have worked in India for a number of years. Richard is currently teaching at a college where they are looking for more students.  Whilst the college was closed Richard went on a youth camp in NE India where he spoke on Sanctification & Social media, and Science and the Bible, as well as other things. Over 100 students attended and all benefited from the trip before the college reopened. We continue to pray for Richard & Soso and the work they do.

Bruce & Louise work in South Africa where Bruce is Chaplin to football club, he works with young men and their families helping them to gain self confidence and achieve their goals. Louise with her medical knowledge works with families on health issues especially educating them that with modern medicines HIV is not a death sentence but people can lead a normal active life. We continue to pray for Bruce & Louise in all that they do.
